NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — If you have extra branches from fall yard work, a herd of hungry elephants would love to take them off your hands.
The elephant sanctuary in Hohenwald is asking for donations of fresh branches, tree trimmings and other vegetation to support elephants' diets and encourage exploring and foraging.
Donations must be free from chemical treatments and should be as fresh as possible.
Drop off donations at the Hohenwald sanctuary at 27 E Main St.

September 11, 2001 is a day most associate with terror and tragedy. Austin Pollack shares a story from that day about hope and persistence: the effort to save a little girl’s life – with an organ donation. The problem? The young patient was in Houston, and her life-saving liver here in Nashville. With the grounding of all civilian aircraft, how could it be done? “Nobody ever said this isn’t possible.”
