MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A head-on crash shut down part of Interstate 24 in Rutherford County.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 4:55 a.m. Sunday in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 83.
The roadway was closed for a while as crews worked at the scene. Authorities have not released how many people were injured or the extent of their injuries.
Officials said the head-on crash involved two vehicles and was caused by one vehicle traveling west in the eastbound lanes.
No further details were available as the investigation was ongoing.
