Metro police say robberies in the Hermitage area have increased 21 percent from the same time last year. Citywide, robberies have increased 8 percent.
Police suggest joining a neighborhood watch -- many of which now live on social media groups.
Other neighbors we talked to try to keep an eye out the old fashioned way.
"I love my neighbors, I really think I got good neighbors, and I'd like to help them anyway I can," said Nadine Powell.
Not every police precinct has seen an increase in robberies, though.
The South Precinct has seen a decrease of 3 percent.
