NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Historic Nashville, Inc. announced its 2015 Nashville Nine Tuesday morning at a press conference at the historic Marathon Village near downtown.
On the list, was: the Capers CMA Memorial Church on 15th Avenue North, the Chestnut Hill Neighborhood, Colonel Tom Parker House, Historic Apartment Buildings along West End and Elliston Place, Lifeway Christian Resources Campus, Pagoda of Mecicine on Young's Lane in North Nashville, Rural Cemeteries in Davidson County, White's Creek Rural Historic District and the Music Row Neighborhood.
Betty-Jean Forrester's family home was one of few still standing, she said the house was built in 1898, and her father bought it in 1941.
"When you see the stained glass windows, when you see every kind of feature, those were the things that were built in 1898" said Betty-Jean, who grew up in the Music Row neighborhood with her four brothers and sisters.
She said she has had many offers to sell her property and has said no to all of them.
Historic Nashville works to promote and advocate for the recognition of historic places and the impact they have on the culture, commerce and creativity of the city.
