A neighborhood in Franklin was evacuated when a domestic dispute turned dangerous and ended in a standoff with police.

It happened in the Franklin Estates subdivision Friday morning.

According to Franklin Police officials, 22-year-old Martin Zaragoza fired several shots outside a home on Granville Road during a domestic dispute.

The suspect ran after the incident to hide from police. Officers found Zaragoza inside his W. Meade Blvd. home, but he refused to surrender to police. That's when SWAT was called in.

Several people in the area were asked to leave their homes.

Zaragoza was taken safely into custody and charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, and violation of an order of protection.

Police said the gun he is suspected of firing was located inside his home. Additional charges are expected.
