Homicide investigation underway after body found in Smith Co.

SMITH COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF)  — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called to help with an apparent homicide investigation after a man's body was found Tuesday in Smith County.

TBI officials say the man's body was found in the 100 block of Hunter Ave. in South Carthage.

TBI identifed the man as 43-year-old Jason Taylor Neusse.

The Smith County Sheriff's Department and South Carthage Police Department are assisting with the investigation.

A forensic team from TBI are processing the scene.

TBI officials say the investigation remains active and ongoing at this time.
