Police were called to a neighborhood in Clarksville after a runaway, horse-drawn buggy crashed into several mailboxes.
The ordeal began around 8 a.m. Thursday on Suiter Road. Clarksville police said a woman was driving the buggy when the horse got spooked and took off running.
The woman had to jump out and landed on the road. The horse kept running, with the buggy still attached, and disappeared over a hill.
A man saw what happened, helped the woman up and they both went after the horse.
At some point, the buggy collided with four mailboxes before flipping and hitting a parked car. The horse broke free and continued running until it was found on Tylertown Road.
The horse wasn’t hurt. The owner did sustain a few scrapes and cuts in the incident.
