A man was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff in the Edgehill community.
The ordeal began around 12:45 a.m. Friday on 13th Avenue South.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said they were questioning a man in the area when suddenly he fled on foot.
From there, the suspect – identified as Muhammad Cannon – locked himself in an attic at a home on 12th Avenue.
The incident lasted for hours. Cannon finally surrendered to officers shortly after 4 a.m.
He was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges.
