Two Houston County school officials have been charged with serious crimes.
A teacher and school board member were arrested in connection with a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student.
Officials with the Sheriff's Department said Richard Tyson was charged with sexual battery of a minor and was arrested Tuesday night.
According to the Houston County Times, former board chairman Tommy Beechum was also charged alongside Tyson who is a high school teacher and .
Reports said Beechum met the girl through church, and she was a student of Tyson's when he taught at Houston County High School.
Investigators didn't believe either man knew of the other's relationship with the victim.
