Authorities confirmed human remains were found in Dickson County.
Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they will be investigating after the remains were found at a location in the 200 block of Blackie Road, just off of Rock Springs Road, in Charlotte.
Reports stated crews were clearing a right of way for the Dickson Electric System near Rock Springs Road just before noon Friday when they found an open cistern at the site of an old home.
When they looked inside, they found skeletal remains and notified authorities.
Officials said they were believed to be the remains of an adult and added they were sent to the medical examiner's office in Nashville.
Detectives with the sheriff's office and agents with the TBI were both on the scene Friday. Officials said they're reviewing all missing persons reports in that area. Anyone with information has been urged to call officials.
