NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Hundreds of Nashville students hit the streets Wednesday morning for International Walk to School Day.
It's been a Metro Nashville tradition since 1999.
Wednesday, nearly 50 schools took part. For the first time as mayor, John Cooper joined the students, parents and teachers on a walk from Hermitage United Methodist Church to DuPont Tyler Middle School.
Communities from more than 40 counties worldwide walked to class Wednesday morning.
