Police said a husband and wife have died in a murder-suicide in Smyrna. The couple’s four children were not harmed in the shooting.
The incident happened at 5 a.m. Sunday on Wisdom Way.
Smyrna Police said officers were called to the residence for a domestic assault with shots fired.
They arrived and found an adult male and adult female on the floor of a bedroom. Both were deceased.
Police said it’s believed 43-year-old James T. Barnes shot and killed his wife, 32-year-old Tiffany Barnes, before shooting and killing himself.
All four of their juvenile children were home at the time of the shooting but none of them were physically harmed, police said. They were placed in the care of family members.
