Man seriously injured in road rage shooting on I-24; police searching for other driver

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police say they’re still looking for a woman who shot another driver during a road rage shooting on Interstate 24 in Nashville.

The shooting was reported at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, and closed eastbound lanes until about 7:30 p.m.

The 28-year-old victim, who lives in La Vergne, told Metro Nashville Police officials he was merging onto I-24 East from I-440 in heavy traffic at when another driver repeatedly tried to cut in front of him.

The victim said the driver pulled alongside of his vehicle, flipped him off and started shooting. The driver fired rounds, three of which hit the victim in the back and leg. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in serious condition, but is expected to recover.

A second vehicle was struck by a round but no one in the vehicle was injured.

The shooter was described as a woman in her 20s driving a black, four-door Audi. Anyone with information about her was asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
