I-24W Re-opens Near Joelton After Semi Jack-Knifes, Leaks Fuel

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A portion of Interstate 24 West was closed for nearly 3 hours after a tractor trailer jack-knifed and leaked fuel onto the roadway.

The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Thursday at mile marker 29 near Joelton.

It was not known what caused the tractor trailer to jack-knife and overturn.

Heather Jensen with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said all traffic was being detoured around the spill.

Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol were on the scene.

The scene wasn’t expected to be cleared until 5 p.m.
