CHRISTIANA, Tenn. – Six people have been injured in a head-on crash in Rutherford County.
Officials said they responded to the scene in the 6100 block of Midland Road around 4:42 p.m. Sunday.
According to reports, the driver of a Honda Civic, identified as 18-year-old Alejandro Arroyo, lost control of the car around a curve, crossed the center line, and struck a Toyota Highlander, driven by 65-year-old Alvin Rigsby.
Arroyo and three children in the car, identified as 12-year-old Jacob Andrews, 6-year-old Jackson Andrews, and 9-year-old Josh Andrews, were all injured and taken by EMS Air to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Rigsby and one of his passengers, 53-year-old Cynthia Rigsby, were injured and taken by ambulance to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
The condition of the victims was unknown.
Another passenger in Rigsby's vehicle was identified as 8-year-old Shyla Grey. Officials said the child's parents picked the child up before troopers arrived on scene. Her injuries were unknown.
Authorities added charges were pending against Arroyo.
