No injuries have been reported after a flight school aircraft overturned on a runway at John C. Tune Airport in west Nashville.
The incident happened at 10 a.m. Thursday at the airport on Airport Drive, located near Elm Hill Pike.
Officials said a "mishap" during landing caused the plane to flip over. One person was inside the single-engine Cessna 172.
The pilot was not hurt.
A witness on the scene said the plane appeared to have been landing when it clipped a sign, causing the aircraft to flip over.
The runway remained closed and all flight operations at the airport were placed on hold.
