GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Independence Day Celebration in Goodlettsville has been canceled this year, the city announced today.
In a Facebook post, the city of Goodlettsville said there were two main factors that led to the decision to cancel the July 4 event. Social distancing and public health concerns being one, and the use of fiscal resources in the current economic environment being the other.
"The Independence Day Celebration has been the cornerstone of the City of Goodlettsville's Patriotic foundation for many years and it will be again in the future," said Goodlettsville Mayor Jeff Duncan.
In years past, the Independence Day Celebration in Goodlettsville was held annually at Moss-Wright Park.
