HARTSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — An inmate at Trousdale Turner Correctional Center assaulted another inmate Friday.
Details of the assault are scant, but CoreCivic officials have confirmed the incident.
"An inmate-on-inmate assault did occur today at Trousdale Turner Correctional Center," a CoreCivic official said. "Correctional officers responded to separate the inmates. The inmates were immediately evaluated and treated by medical staff...Our partners ar the Tennessee Department of Correction have been notified and an investigation is underway."
The official added that after the initial medical evaluation, one of the inmates involved was transported to an outside medical facility for treatment of his injuries.
Another CoreCivic official confirmed there were no deaths or homicides in this incident.
