NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A woman in the custody of the Davidson County Sheriff's Office died after she caught COVID-19.
The sheriff's office said the 64-year-old woman died Saturday. She had been hospitalized for the virus since August 18. She was arrested on July 7 and charged with failure to appear on a fourth office DUI charge.
As of August 31, there were two inmates with active COVID-19 cases while 324 others have since recovered.
There are 124 inmates on a "COVID-19 restriction."
The sheriff's office said seven employees of the department continue to have an active case while 89 others have recovered.
