Escaped inmate serving three-decade sentence back in custody

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — An inmate who escaped in Kentucky Wednesday evening is now back in custody.

Charles Pedigo, originally of Scottsville, escaped from the Green River Correctional Complex Wednesday night.

According to Kentucky State Police, they were notified by Warren County Sheriff's Department that Pedigo had been located at a residence on H E Johnson Road in Bowling Green when a woman called the police to report a man on her front porch, attempting to quiet her dogs. Responders found Pedigo and arrested him.

Pedigo is serving a 29-year and one day sentence for felony assault.

Kentucky State Police said the 44-year-old has ties to Allen, Hardin, and Simpson counties.
