PIKEVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The majority of inmates who tested positive for COVID-19 at Bledsoe County Correctional Complex are recovering from the virus, the Tennessee Department of Corrections said.
Of the total number of inmates with confirmed cases, 580 have completed 14 days of isolation and are not showing any symptoms.
TDOC said there are six inmates who still have active cases, two of which are being treated at a hospital and four who are not showing any symptoms but will remain in isolation.
The department began mass testing efforts for both inmates and staff on May 4.
