LEBANON, Tenn. -- Businesses in Lebanon have been getting ready for a major traffic detour this week.
Starting at 6 a.m. Monday, the intersection at the Lebanon town square will be closed for three days, as crews pour concrete islands and complete other safety improvements around a newly-created roundabout.
TDOT stressed businesses will remain open during that time, but some business owners have been worried customers won't want to deal with the extra hassle of getting around the closed roads.
Jim Eddington, the owner of a coin shop on the town square, weighed in.
“Personally if I was coming to my shop to buy coins in the next 3 days, I'd go back to the house and go buy coins some other time or somewhere else,” Eddington said.
The roads were expected to re-open around the town square by 6 a.m. on Thursday.
The entire project has been expected to be completed by the end of the month.
