NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Fire Department has begun investigating who started multiple fires across downtown Nashville during protests on Saturday night.

The day started peaceful at a rally attended by thousands, but by the end of the day, violence broke out downtown, with fire being set, buildings spray painted and windows broken.

Fires were set at Nashville's historic Metro Courthouse, and three businesses on Broadway: Boot Barn, Margaritaville and The Stage.

Investigators are also looking into the materials that were used to set the fires.
