Jason Autry was the key witness for the prosecution and his testimony helped lead to the conviction of Zach Adams in the murder case of Holly Bobo. He may also play a key role in the possible prosecution of Adam’s brother Dylan, who was also charged with the crime.

Yes, he could testify. A trial date could soon be set for Dylan Adams.

Now the question is: What will Autry get in return for his help prosecuting the others. Remember, Autry is a third defendant in the Bobo case, but most expect him to get a plea deal.

“There’s been talk Autry could be released in time for the holidays,” said NewsChannel 5 legal analyst Nick Leonardo. “But I don’t think he will be released that soon.”

Autry is currently serving time on a federal gun sentence. During his testimony in the Adams trial, Autry admitted to trying to help Adams to dispose of Holly’s body.

He told the jury he was there when Adams shot her in the head. Yet, just last week, in an unusual move, the former TBI lead agent in the Bobo investigation Terry Dicus filed a brief with the court alleging that Autry repeatedly lied during his testimony.

So, could Autry really get a sweethart deal with little additional jail time? It’s possible. Plea talks are still in the works.

It’s likely we will learn the fate of Dylan Adams first at a hearing Tuesday before we hear what will happen to Autry.

Leonardo may have doubts about Autry receiving a sweetheart deal, but he says it’s highly unlikely he’ll get anywhere near the life sentence given Zach Adams.

For now, Autry remains in custody at Riverbend Maximum Security Prison in Nashville waiting on word when he might be released.
