Jean Shepard Remembered At Service

Posted

Fans and friends remembered the country singer and Grand Ole Opry star Jean Shepard in a Celebration of Life service.

The service was held at a church in Hendersonville, and was open to the public.

Anyone that had the chance to make it out to the Opry, may have heard her sing.

She joined the Opry in 1955 with her songs "Twice the Lovin' in Half the Time" and "A Dear John Letter".

She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2011 and those at the church gave her a final standing ovation.

The Opry has a quote of her's posted online that read:  "The Opry has been a most important part of my life and my career. I hope that I have brought to the Opry something that was good for everyone and for country music because the Opry was good for me."

Jean Shepard was 82 years old.
