Nashville's new Vice Mayor Jim Shulman was sworn into office, and he says he's ready to get to work.
Shulman beat out Sheri Weiner in a run-off election earlier this month. Shulman says he's ready to get to work on several new committees.
"One of the first things I would do tomorrow is we're going to put a group of people who will look at school safety. We're going to look at what happened recently with the budget, and we're going to look at contract procurement," said Shulman.
Metro Director of Law Jon Cooper said voters will elect someone to Schulman's at large council seat in August.
