A judge has denied Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold’s request to be released from jail.
Arnold went before Judge Kevin Sharp on Wednesday to plead for his release. However, in a written order issued Thursday, Judge Sharp denied that request.
The sheriff has been in federal custody awaiting his Jailcigs corruption trial set for next February.
He was free on pre-trial release, but that was revoked after allegations surfaced of domestic abuse involving his wife.
Arnold had been begging for a second chance, while federal prosecutors have called him a liar who can't be trusted and could harm his family.
