NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennesee Department of Health reported an increase of 1,428 people who have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the state's total to 50,140 cases as of July 4, 2020.
The total includes 637 deaths, 2,860 hospitalizations and 30,043 recovered.

Metro Public Health Department officials have confirmed a total of 11,428 COVID-19 cases in Nashville/Davidson County.
Including both confirmed and probable cases, MPHD officials announced a total of 11,441 cases, an increase of 327 in the past 24 hours.
The confirmed cases range in age from 1 month to 102 years old.
Two additional confirmed deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours, an 80-year-old male and a 97-year-old male. Medical histories are still pending.
111 are confirmed to have died due to COVID-19 in Davidson County. Including probable COVID-19 deaths, the total is 114.
7,725 individuals have recovered from the virus.
Available hospital beds: 23 percent
Available ICU beds: 22 percent
The MPHD COVID-19 Hotline was closed for the July 4 holiday on Friday, July 3.
