A juvenile driver was killed in a crash following an alleged street racing incident.

The crash happened in Macon County around 9:20 p.m. Friday on Long Creek Road at the intersection of Johnson Road.

Officials said a vehicle, driven by a juvenile from Westmoreland, was reportedly racing alongside a truck.

The juvenile went off the right side of the road, and the vehicle hit a driveway culvert causing it to cross back over to the opposite side of the road, hit a tree, and travel down a creek bank.

The driver and a juvenile passenger were ejected during the crash. The driver died from his injuries on Saturday. The passenger, from Lafayette, was injured and in unknown condition.

Further details were not immediately available.
