FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Gov. Andy Beshear has announced record numbers of new coronavirus cases and deaths across Kentucky.

He warned Tuesday that COVID-19 is “spreading like wildfire.” The state posted 4,151 more virus cases, including more than 460 children.

The state’s virus-related death count increased by another 35. The governor says nearly 1,780 virus patients are hospitalized in Kentucky, including more than 440 in intensive care.

Both are record numbers in the Bluegrass state. Beshear warns that “a huge amount of virus” is spreading rapidly in every county across the state.
