NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Animal Care and Control was called to a parking lot in Nashville after a cat and her kittens were left in a vehicle.

MACC officials said they responded to the parking lot on Monday and found several one-week-old kittens inside a carrier.

Their mother was outside the crate and could not reach them.

Metro Nashville police officers also responded and got all the animals out of the vehicle. The kittens appeared to have died before anyone got to the scene.

The surviving cat was taken to Metro Animal Control and is doing fine.

The owner of the car was not located.
