The La Vergne Fire Department hired its first full-time firefighter.
Brittney Barry is a Wilson Central High School graduate and worked at the Walter Hill Volunteer Fire Department here in Rutherford County.
"She's dedicated and a hard worker, said Assistant Fire Chief Chris Clark. "We look forward to working with her in the future," said Clark.
Barry is no stranger to La Vergne. She has been working the past three years as a part-time Firefighter with the city.
