A suspect search has gotten underway in Lebanon after a woman said she was raped while walking home.
The incident was reported shortly after noon Tuesday in a wooded area near the corner of East Spring Street and Park Avenue.
Police said a sheriff’s deputy heard a woman yelling for help as she was walking toward the road from a field.
The 18-year-old woman said she was walking home and had taken a short cut through a field when she was struck on the head.
Investigators said she was attacked and raped. At some point, something scared the suspect and he fled the area on foot.
