NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Lipscomb's historic run through the NIT ended in defeat Thursday night inside Madison Square Garden.
The Bisons (29-8) came up short in the NIT Championship game against Texas.
Texas jumped out to a 14-point lead at halftime and held on for a 81-66 victory.
Lipscomb was led by Rob Marberry and Garrison Matthews, with 17 and 15 points respectively.
The 29 wins are the most in a season for Lipscomb since they made the jump to Division I in 2002.
Dylan Osetowski paced the Longhorns with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Leukemia survivor Kerwin Roach II added 16 points for Texas.
