NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The first of the 2015 Live on the Green concert series got underway downtown Thursday night.

It was the seventh year for the outdoor music event by Lightning 100.

Elliot Root, Shakey Graves and Lord Huron took the stage at Public Square Park.

Organizers called the crowds Live on the Green has drawn in the "perfect size," but it was about as large as the event can handle.

Last year, organizers said they set a record with 22,000 people showing up to see Cage The Elephant.

Executive Producer Lester Turner said when bands were booked they have to make sure they draw a big crowd, but not too large.

"One of the challenges for us is every time we've made one of those evolutionary hops in the size of the crowd, we kind of had to reinvent the space," he said.
