NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Essential workers turn to Facebook where thousands of volunteers and their trucks plowed through the winter mess to bring people to and from work.

Through rain, through sleet, through snow, Bo Moore’s truck practically does it all. Good thing too, because Moore is driving when conditions are far from ideal.

Any other time we would say Moore should probably not be driving, but this just happens to be for a good cause.

With his daughter Cassidy riding shotgun and their lifted 4x4 Jeep, these two search through Facebook groups like the Emergency Transport and Recovery in Mid TN. A lot of words to mean, if you’re an essential worker and you need a ride, these folks can help.

Start by joining the group on FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/midtn4x4rescueandrecovery/

You must either be an essential worker or a volunteer driver with a vehicle capable of managing the severe weather. The page is monitored by administrators who accept your requests and make sure to match workers with drivers.

Other similar groups go by different names, but many of the same drivers are members of each group.

“The post that we go through is posted on all four Jeep clubs,” Moore said.

By the time we found Moore, he had already transported five healthcare professionals to work. Once they finish their shifts, Moore plans to drop them off at home.

“They’re very appreciative. You hear thank you, thank you. They try to offer to pay us, but that’s not what we do it for,” Moore said.
