After a full day of drama, local hero James Shaw Jr. led the Nashville Christmas Parade as Grand Marshal instead of Kid Rock.
Country rock artist, Kid Rock sparked controversy with his statement about talk show host Joy Behar while appearing on Fox & Friends.
Kid Rock replaced as parade's Grand Marshal
Even though Kid Rock apologized and made amends with Behar, Metro city officials took issue with the incident and removed him as Grand Marshal of the parade.
Local business owner, Steve Smith, who is also a parade organizer then threatened to sue the city, saying the decision was not warranted. Smith said he would sue if the city didn't reimburse him the large amount of money he put into the parade.
As of late Friday night, an attorney for Smith said Kid Rock would be attending the parade with the intention to be the Grand Marshal.
However, that didn't happen. On Saturday morning, Kid Rock posted to social media saying he would simply be watching the parade.
James Shaw Jr., the man who stopped the gunman of the deadly Waffle House shooting, stepped into the role instead.
The issue was not well received. Several members of the crowd handed out and wore t-shirts saying Kid Rock for Mayor.
