NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Many families may already have gifts under the tree for their children this Christmas but for some in Nashville they are unable to provide. That's where Metro Nashville police officers stepped in.
The Andrew Jackson Police Youth Camp conducted the 20th annual 'Shop with a Cop' Friday afternoon at the Wal-Mart located at 4040 Nolensville Road.
About 80 children from undeserved Nashville communities paired up with MNPD police officers to choose gifts for their families and themselves that they would otherwise not be able to afford.
Immediately following their purchases, they the children were taken to Andrew Jackson Lodge #5 where officers and other members of the community helped wrap the gifts that were selected.
Hunt Brothers pizza, Mission Barbeque, and McDonalds provided lunch.
