A man has been arrested in the stabbing of a victim outside a Nashville nightclub.
The incident happened just before 5 a.m. Sunday outside of the Déjà Vu nightclub in the 1200 block of Demonbreun Street.
Reports stated 26-year-old Jerald Sanford and 30-year-old James McCloud walked out of the club and began arguing near the entrance.
That’s when Sanford allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed McCloud multiple times in his stomach.
Authorities said McCloud was recovering after surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
An officer saw Sanford flee in a white pickup truck and attempted to stop him.
When Sanford refused to pull over, the officer then pursued him to Charles E. Davis Boulevard at Cannon Street.
According to reports, Sanford got out of his vehicle, ran for a short distance, and then surrendered.
Sanford was booked into jail on charges of attempted murder and evading arrest. He was being held on a $275,000 bond.
