Two people have been charged in the death of Jamie Kopulos.

Officials said they charged 35-year-old Mary V. Young with criminal homicide and evidence tampering.

Authorities confirmed they had been seeking 41-year-old Maurice Boyd on the same charges. He was taken into custody early Saturday morning.

The 26-year-old victim’s body was found Monday evening in a ditch on Hudson Road near Pineywood Acres Drive.

Kopulos’ family had reported her missing that same day, and reports stated she was last seen on the night of August 16.

According to an investigation, Kopulos ended up with Young and Boyd at a Madison motel room, where authorities believe she passed out from overdosing on heroin and Xanax.

The two suspects allegedly packed Kopulos out of the room in a plastic storage tote and put her in Young’s car.

They’ve been accused of dumping her in the ditch, and Young said during an interview that they also threw Kopulos’ cell phone and other belongings from the car.

Young and Boyd were both being held in lieu of a $400,000 bond each.
