One person was rushed to the hospital after being hit in a shootout between people in two cars on Bell Road.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department were called at 9:45 p.m. Saturday after witnesses reported seeing the shootout in the westbound lanes of Bell Road near Cane Ridge Road.
A total of three vehicles were hit in the shootout. A 20-year-old driver in one of those vehicles was shot. Reports stated he bullet went through both his legs.
He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the cars crashed on Bell Road in front of the nearby Home Depot. One of the vehicles that crashed belonged to the suspected shooters. The people inside that car got out and ran from the scene.
Officers said the other car involved that fled from the scene was a red sedan.
It wasn't immediately clear what caused the people in the vehicles to begin shooting at each other.
