A woman has been indicted after being accused of using someone else’s medical license number to provide care she wasn’t qualified to perform.
Officials arrested 36-year-old Janet Lonore Kelly Thursday after a grand jury returned the indictment December 4.
Those with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit said Kelly, also known as Janet Brown, used the Certified Nursing Assistant license number of a woman with a similar name, without that woman’s knowledge. By doing so, Kelly gained employment at three healthcare and rehabilitation facilities in Nashville.
The investigation began February 26.
Kelly has been charged with one count of identity theft and one count of impersonation of a licensed professional.
She was booked into the Davidson County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
