An inmate has been injured in a fight with another inmate in Rutherford County, according to reports.
Those with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said deputies heard a commotion Friday night in a holding cell and intervened during the fight between two arrestees.
Authorities said their actions prevented serious injuries to one of the inmates.
That inmate was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was also treated at the scene by a nurse in booking.
Reports stated charges were pending against the second inmate involved in the fight.
The incident remained under investigation. No identities had been released.
