16-Year-Old Injured In Shooting

Police have been investigating a shooting that injured a 16-year-old in East Nashville.

Officials confirmed the 16-year-old male was injured and taken to the hospital. Authorities said his injuries were non-life threatening.

According to reports, the victim walked up to a man around 3:30 p.m. Thursday and said, "I've been shot!"

The 16-year-old told police he was walking on South 9th Street near the Kirkpatrick Elementary recreation center when a vehicle drove by and someone fired a shot.

The victim was not able to provide a description of the vehicle or suspect. No one has reported hearing any shots fired.

The shooting took place near Kirkpatrick Elementary, but officials said the school was not affected.
