One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting on Interstate 24 in Robertson County.
Officials with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting happened after 2 a.m. Sunday at mile marker 19, near Maxey Road.
Details on what led to the shooting were not immediately available, but authorities confirmed three people were shot. No identities had been released.
One of the victims died, and two more victims were being treated at Skyline Medical Center. Their conditions were unknown.
On Sunday evening, authorities confirmed the shooting did not appear to be random. They added those involved in the shooting were from Nashville and were headed back there from Clarksville.
The interstate was closed to eastbound traffic for several hours early Sunday morning as officials investigated at the scene. Westbound drivers were affected with rubbernecking delays.
Officials said the shooting investigation remained ongoing.
