1 Killed In Crash On Interstate 65 In Brentwood

A woman has died following a crash on Interstate 65 in Brentwood.

The wreck happened just after 10 a.m. Saturday near Exit 74A for Old Hickory Boulevard.

Reports stated three people were inside the vehicle. A female, identified as 79-year-old Catherine Marie Vandepavert, of Fresno, California, was killed in the crash.

Authorities said she was in the backseat at the time of the wreck. Her granddaughter, 24-year-old Melanie Catherine Laurendine, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was the driver.

Laurendine, for unknown reasons, veered into a curve, lost control, left the roadway, and hit a rock wall.

Vandepavert was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she passed away.

Her daughter, 54-year-old Ingride Laurendine, of Mooresville, Indiana, was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Melanie Laurendine had minor injuries.

Authorities said all three women were wearing seatbelts. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol use involved in the crash.

Further details had not been released as the investigation remained ongoing.
