One person has been killed in a single-vehicle crash in Rutherford County.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around 11:38 p.m. Wednesday in the 12200 block of State Highway 96.
According to reports, a 2010 Chevrolet ML2 driven by 35-year-old Dietrich R. Collins, of Nashville, was traveling eastbound when the car left the road, drove through a ditch, and hit a culvert.
Collins’ vehicle then overturned, ejecting him. He was killed in the crash.
Authorities confirmed Collins was not wearing a seatbelt, and they added they believe it would have made a difference in the crash.
