The identity has been released of a woman who died after a rollover crash in south Nashville.
The incident happened before noon Monday on Northcrest Drive near Leeanne Drive, not far from Edmondson Pike.
The victim was tentatively identified as 39-year-old Maha Ahmed of Whispering Oaks Drive.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said Ahmed sideswiped another car with her 2003 Jeep Laredo at an apartment complex and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
She tried to turn right onto Northcrest but ended up driving across the roadway and into a ditch. The vehicle kept traveling and struck a tree before flipping.
The SUV came to rest in between two houses. Investigators were on scene taking photos and measurements.
Officials said Ahmed died at the scene. .
There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement.
