A 14-year-old driver and his mother have been charged after police said the teen crashed a car at a high-rate of speed while four other juveniles were with him.
The incident happened around midnight Thursday at Dickerson Pike and Interstate 65.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the teen tried to turn onto I-65 but instead drove up onto a retaining wall, causing the car to overturn.
Two teens inside the vehicle were hurt and taken to an area hospital. Both were expected to recover.
The ages of the teens ranged from 14 to 16.
The teen driver was charged with not having a driver’s license and breaking curfew.
Police said his mother knew he had the car and was also charged in the case.
Neither of their identities was known.
