Chattanooga police tell news outlets that Monday night's shootings took place at two locations and are believed to be connected.

The first shooting occurred on Jarvis Avenue where police say 28-year-old Marcus Kale was fatally shot after multiple people exchanged gunfire. The second shooting took place on Woodmore Lane where 28-year-old Alex Freeman was killed.

Three others were injured during the shootings and are currently recovering in hospitals. Police are trying to determine where each person was shot.
